JEE Main, the national level entrance exam for engineering, is conducted every year. Next in the hierarchy comes the 57-year-old IIT Kanpur, located near Kalyanpur village in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. 9. Indian Institute of Technology Ropar :
IIT Ropar started functioning from its temporary campus at IIT Delhi on July 23rd, 2008. Then the Institute had 40 students in each of the subjects of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical engineering. IIT Delhi is also the mentor institute of IIT Ropar. At present the institute is operating from “Government Polytechnic College for Girls” in Ropar. 10. Indian Institute of Technology Patna :
The Indian Institute of Technology, Patna (IITP) is among the newer IITs created by Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2011. Located in Patna, it is rated as an institute of national importance. It is also included in the National Knowledge Network, which serves as a resource for knowledge-related institutions meant for uniting scientific community. The campus of the IITP is divided into blocks. The Academic Block has buildings equipped with audio-visual gadgets and modern labs.
