Organ Donation: Giving a gift of life

fb-image-(7)Organ donation is when a person allows healthy transplantable organs and tissues to be removed, either after death or while the donor is alive, and transplanted into another person. Common transplantations include: kidneys, heart, liver, pancreas, intestines, lungs, bones, bone marrow, skin, and corneas.

Despite medical advancement, organ transplant has become the only hope for some patients with organ failure in order to live on. However, the limited supply from donation of transplantable organs has made more than 2000 local patients and their family waiting desperately, as the patients count their days in the fight against death. It is more regretful that many patients would die before the right organ match comes. To shorten patients’ waiting time (race against time phrase meaning) for organ transplant and to bring new life, active support for organ donation by members of the public is critically important.

Motion Education Pvt. Ltd. supports Organ Donation by inviting the Shine India Foundation to conduct an awareness seminar on Organ Donation on 26th November 2016. This was a successful event as it delivers importance and significance of Organ Donation and how one individual can help in saving or improving many lives.

According to World Health Organization (WHO), only about 0.01 percent in India donate their organs after death. There is a major lack of awareness about organ donation, and recent polls and surveys reveal that people would come forth with their wish to donate if they had received more information
