CBSE Board Big Update : Class 12 Exams Cancelled

No exams will be held this year for Class 12 CBSE and CISCE students. This decision is taken in interest of students health and safety.

Amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting today and announced that exams will be cancelled. In meeting Prime Minister was briefed about all the possible options for class 12. Presently, the government is considering two options including one of cancelling the physical exams.

‘Health and safety of our students is of utmost importance and there would be no compromise on this aspect,’ PM Narendra Modi said during the key meeting.

After discussion between state and central ministers, the government has come up with three substitutes:

  • Option A: holding exams for only major subjects.
  • Option B: holding exams on a new format including short answer-type questions.
  • Option C: assessing students based on their performance in the past three academic years.

He declared that COVID-19 has affected the academic year and the issue of Board Exams has been causing massive anxiety among students, parents and teachers, which must be put to an end.

PM also stated, results of Class 12 will be made as per well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner.
